Boston Marketbegan testing reduced-sodium options at select locations in 2010. Since then, the chain has expanded its sodium reduction initiatives in all its 458 restaurants. Significant advances in sodium reduction include a 26 percent reduction in mashed potatoes, the company's most popular side dish. Sodium levels in its poultry gravy dropped 50 percent, sodium in meatloaf declined 18 percent and Boston Market’s rotisserie chicken contains 20 percent less sodium.
“At Boston Market, we are committed to ensuring our guests enjoy delicious, home style cooking that can be part of a healthier diet,” said George Michel, CEO of Boston Market. “Modifying our recipes to create healthier options, without sacrificing taste, is another way we deliver on our mission to provide guests wholesome foods they can feel good about eating and sharing with their families.”
