Cuomo announced that $300,000 was approved for Adirondack Meat Co.'s new 7,500-sq.-ft. food processing facility. The expansion is needed to meet growing demand from local livestock producers in need of processing services. The company also plans to open a retail store in Ticonderoga in May.

"Working with local producers on the growing need for fresh, all-natural animals will be very productive for our region. Opportunities like this give small businesses a chance to succeed."
Adirondack Meat Co. is the first US Department of Agriculture-certified processing plant in the Adirondack Park. Upgrades to the facility will enable faster turnaround and more processing capacity to reduce transportation costs and delays.
