ATLANTA — The National Rendering Association will be a new affiliate at the 2010 International Poultry Expo and International Feed Expo. The N.R.A. consists of companies specializing in recycling and adding value to animal by-products, such as protein meals and pet foods. As a result, this new initiative will create the International Rendering Expo.

N.R.A. will be centrally located in an exhibit booth at the I.R.E. in Hall B to highlight their programs and services and promote the rendering industry. Their presence expands the programs, scope and overall appeal of the show to the rendering industry and enhances the interaction between the poultry, feed, and rendering segments, according to the expos producers.

Already with a strong contingent, such as Dupps, Haarslev, Anco-Eaglin, American Proteins, Griffin Industries and Valley Proteins, the addition of even more rendering-related companies would make the combined 2010 Expo the largest exposition of rendering-based exhibitors in the world.

Taking place from Jan. 27-29 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, the 2010 Expos are being sponsored by the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association and the American Feed Industry Association.

"The National Rendering Association participation at the Expo provides an excellent opportunity to bring all interested parties together at a forum to learn of the newest technologies," said Tom Cook, president of the N.R.A. "Our organization is very pleased to be part of this outstanding event, and we are confident that the synergy of bringing the rendering industry to the Expo will reap new benefits for everyone."

"The objective of the three organizations is to grow the show with complementary, not competitive industries," added Charlie Olentine, USPOULTRY executive vice-president. "When U.S. Poultry & Egg Association and the American Feed Industry Association co-located the poultry and feed expos in 2007, it was a successful and effective coalition. The National Rendering Association participation in 2010 will be the next step in a natural alliance of industries."
