MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern Poverty Law Center filed a complaint against poultry processor Wayne Farms LLC. SPLC filed the complaint with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) on behalf of nine current or former employees.

SPLC alleges, among other things, that workers at Wayne Farms "have been forced to endure unsafe and abusive conditions or lose their jobs". The complaint contains allegations of injuries caused by high line speeds; failure to record work-related illnesses or injuries; denial of adequate medical treatment; and forcing employees to pay for protective equipment.
