On May 21, protesters marched on McDonald's corporate headquarters. Estimates on the number of demonstrators varied from 600 to 1,500. The local police department said the arrests were made for criminal trespassing. News reports state that a group of 101 McDonald's employees and more than 30 clergy and union activists were arrested for crossing a police barricade. Those arrested could face fines.
