CARPINTERIA, Calif. – The Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s fast-food chains, both business units of CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. are launching a “light” menu featuring low carbohydrate and lower fat options.
Dubbed the “other side,” the menu features a variety of charbroiled turkey burgers all under 500 calories; charbroiled chicken options; lettuce-wrapped, 100 percent Black Angus beef burgers such as the low carbohydrate Thickburger that features 38 grams of protein; and vegetarian options, among others.
“Our ‘other side’ menus highlight a wider variety of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s’ premium quality, delicious food options,” said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc., parent company. “Many fast-food places have secret menus that are typically reserved for indulgent versions of their standard menu. Since Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s already are known for delicious indulgence, our not-so-secret other side menu calls attention to our menu items that not only fill you up and taste great, but also provide alternatives to guests looking to trim calories, carbs and/or fat.”
