CINCINNATI – After setting a new world’s record for creating the longest Bierwurst sausage last year with a 200 ft. continuous link, Queen City Sausage Co. is planning to attempt to break this record July 7 at Fountain Square by creating a 250 ft. continuous link. The World’s Longest Bierwurst promotion is among events kicking off the Queen City Sausage Festival, which runs from July 11-13 at Newport’s Riverfront Levee.

Approximately 1,700 Bierwurst servings will be made using local Hudepohl 14K Amber Lager beer and served on local Klosterman buns. The sausage will be served free to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today. Elmer Hensler, Queen City founder and president, will be attending the event.
