Romano's Macaroni Grill goes big with Fatbreads. |
HOUSTON – Romano's Macaroni Grill delivers pizza with heft. The chain's new Fatbreads specialty pizzas, available through Oct. 26, feature bigger crusts and more ingredients.
"In my hometown, crust is celebrated," said Antonio Iocchi, executive chef. "Italian chefs are still baking fat, artisanal, irregular pizzas in open-hearth ovens that celebrate the art of dough making and baking. That's why I wanted to create a big, fat crust for Fatbreads."
Traditional flavors such as cheese or pepperoni are available in addition to Smashed Meatball with smashed beef and veal meatballs; Farmhouse with butcher-chopped bacon, prosciutto and sautéed spinach; Pesto Primavera with zucchini, roasted tomatoes, bell peppers and basil; and the classic Margherita with bruschetta tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil.
Romano's Macaroni Grill developed a "non-traditional" television commercial featuring the chain's spin of a popular 1990's rap song. The spots will run nationally through Oct. 12 and can be viewed at http://youtu.be/S6RYatSH-5Q.
