WASHINGTON – Approximately 4,820 lbs. of pork Banger-style sausage products are being recalled (Class I Recall/Health Risk: High) by Interbay Food Company LLC, Woodinville, Wash., due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reports. The suspect products contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the products’ label. The problem was discovered by an FSIS inspector who noticed the products were incorrectly labeled.

FSIS and the company, however, have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consuming these products.

Products being recalled include 1-lb. (five links per package) refrigerated packages of The British Pantry Ltd., British Style Bangers; 1-lb. (16 links per package) refrigerated packages of The British Pantry Ltd., British Style Bangers; and 5-lb. logs of The British Pantry Ltd., British Style Bangers.

Suspect products were cooked in a Redmond, Wash., restaurant and sold to the public. They were produced using bread crumbs that came from a vendor who listed wheat, soy and milk on the label. Although the label for the bangers listed wheat and soy, it did not list milk as an ingredient. These products were produced on March 17 and 24, May 5, June 2 and 30, July 15 and 29, Aug. 26 and Sept. 8, 2014. The products’ package codes are also its production dates. The products bear the establishment number “Est. 6267” inside the USDA mark of inspection, and have a six-month shelf-life.
