ATLANTA – Effective Jan. 21, Omar Janjua will begin his tenure as the new president and chief executive officer of The Krystal Company, which was acquired by the Argonne Capital Group in 2012. Krystal calls itself the oldest quick-service restaurant chain in the South and the second-oldest QSR chain in the United States.
Janjua will manage the executive team, more than 350 restaurants and 6,000 employees in 11 states. He has more than 35 years of quick-service restaurant experience under his belt, having most recently served as president for Sonic Restaurants Inc. and chief operations officer for Sonic Industries. Prior to Sonic, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for The Steak 'n Shake Company. Janjua also worked for 18 years with YUM! Brands Inc. in its Pizza Hut operations, working in various leadership positions.
