Jeffrey Haubrich, assistant Rock County Attorney, wrote in a letter to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office that videos taken by Los Angeles-based Last Chance For Animals are not admissible in court and that a veterinarian could find no basis for pursuing a criminal case.
Christensen Farms suspended seven employees following the release of the undercover video and launched its own investigation into animal welfare violations at the facility in Sleepy Eye, Minn. At the time of the incident, Glenn Stolt, CEO of Christensen Farms said “While these allegations are very disappointing, we have a history of continually improving our animal welfare processes. Although this incident will only directly impact a small number of our animals it will provide us with the opportunity to improve and strengthen our commitment to quality animal care and employee training.”
Christensen Farms is a small family owned business with operations throughout the Upper Midwest.
