SAO PAULO, Brazil – JBS SA, the world's largest meat processor, plans to re-open two beef processing plants that have been idle for more than four years, according to news reports.

News outlets report the company will re-open its plant in Araguaina in late February. The second plant, which is in Iguatemi, will open in July. Estimated revenues from the facilities are $1 billion, according to news reports.


JBS acquired the facility in Araguaina in 2009 as part of its merger with Bertin SA.
