Iowa Premium opened its Tama, Iowa processing plant in November 2014 after a three-year hiatus and a $48.5 million renovation. The 200,000 sq. ft. facility custom processes cattle for independent producers to sell their own branded beef. The processor sources cattle from family farm-feeders within a target 150-mile radius of the Tama facility. Feedyards that supply cattle average about 350 head.
“Iowa Premium and Smith & Wollensky share a passion for providing consumers with the highest quality, most flavorful beef, so the partnership was a natural fit for us,” said Jeffrey Johnson, Iowa Premium CEO. “We are excited for the opportunity to offer Smith & Wollensky guests a flavor experience that's unmatched anywhere else. We have a continued commitment to quality beef, from our Midwest farms to Smith & Wollensky dining tables across the country.”
