DENVER — The Performance Enhancing Meat Snack Co. is introducing Perky Jerky, a caffeinated beef jerky combining peppered beef with an additive for energy.

"Creating an energizing meat snack was only half the battle," said Brian Levin, product developer. "I refused to compromise on both the taste and the effect, so it took several years of trial and error to find the perfect combination of flavor and kick."

The product is flavored using the natural additive Guarana and contains the amount of caffeine found in two cans of a popular energy drink. It is 90 calories per serving with 22 grams of protein.
