CELAYA, Mexico – Industrias Bachoco SAB de CV has reached an agreement to acquire the breeding assets of Morris Hatchery Inc. in Georgia.
The deal includes bird inventory of roughly 1 million laying hens and equipment. The acquisition will take effect immediately. Bachoco already owns Morris Hatchery’s assets in Arkansas.
“This is the next step to strengthen this particular stage of our supply chain, which allows us to support the organic growth of the company and, at the same time, increase our geographical dispersion and reduce risky situations,” CEO Rodolfo Ramos said in a statement.
Industrias Bachoco is a leading poultry producer and processor in Mexico’s poultry industry, and one of the largest poultry producers globally. Morris Hatchery operates breeding operations in Miami and New York.
