ATLANTA – Greg Vojnovic has been named to the newly created position of chief development officer at Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc., effective Sept. 8. He will report to Paul Brown, CEO of Arby’s.

Most recently, Vojnovic was chief development officer of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. for eight years. During that time, he opened more than 100 new company and franchise restaurants each year.
Vojnovic returns to Arby’s following a 20-year hiatus. In the 1990s, he held a number of leadership roles at the brand, including director of new ventures, director of international development and senior director of franchise development.
In his new position, Vojnovic’s responsibilities will include attracting new franchisees and spearheading the construction and remodeling of Arby’s restaurants. The company expects to open more than 60 new units this year and remodel 160 others. The company said its remodeled restaurants are experiencing sustained sales increases of approximately 15 percent on average, with some reporting increases of 20 percent or more.
“Arby’s is in growth mode and I can’t think of a better candidate to take the helm of our development than Greg,” Brown said. “As franchising demand accelerates, I’m looking forward to working with Greg to build and remodel Arby’s restaurants among both new and existing franchisees.”
With more than 3,300 restaurants worldwide, Arby’s has accelerated development and remodeling at both company and franchise-owned restaurants. The fast-food chain recently announced its 19th consecutive quarter of same-store sales growth.
“I’m excited about the new opportunity at Arby’s,” Vojnovic said. “There is so much energy and momentum at Arby’s right now and I’m looking forward to being part of the executive team that guides the brand to further growth.”
