McCormick said most of its herbs and spices already contain no bioengineered ingredients, but the company will begin to label such products as part of a new quality consumer education initiative.
In conjunction with the announcement, the company said it is launching non-GMO pure vanilla extract, which already has begun shipping to stores.
“Our consumers are increasingly interested in quality flavors with pure ingredients in their food,” said Lawrence Kurzius, president and CEO. “Our effort to increase our organic and non-GMO offerings proves that we are listening to consumers and are committed to continuing to evolve.”
