OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald’s Corp. plans to expand its all-day breakfast menu starting in February, the Associated Press reported. Items include McGriddle sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches made with biscuits. The expanded menu will launch in 72 restaurants in Tulsa, Okla.
McDonald’s is riding a wave of growth generated in part by the launch of all-day breakfast. The fast-food chain reported same-store sales growth of 5.7 percent in the recent quarter. CEO Steve Easterbrook said the national launch of all-day breakfast exceeded expectations and for a longer period than projected. Although the company has other initiatives in the pipeline to drive sales growth, Easterbrook told analysts McDonald’s will continue to expand the breakfast and beverage platforms.
“… the all-day breakfast is a further growth opportunity which we are going to continue to work hard through 2016,” he said.
