LOS ANGELES – California Pizza Kitchen said it is committed to sourcing 100 percent cage-free eggs for all of its corporate-owned domestic restaurants by 2022. The company’s website states that CPK is approaching 300 restaurants in 15 countries and 217 cities around the world.
“We are in the process of working with our suppliers to chart our transition and look forward to providing updates on our progress soon,” the company said in a statement. “We know this is important to our customers and we believe it is the right thing to do, which is why we are committed to making this change.”
Chain restaurants such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Denny’s and Panera also have committed to sourcing cage-free eggs. ConAgra Foods Inc. recently announced plans to transition 100 percent of its egg supplies to cage-free eggs by 2025.
