CINCINNATI – AdvancePierre Foods appointed Dr. Celeste A. Clark to its board of directors on Feb.24. She recently retired as senior vice president of global public policy and external relations for Kellogg Company.

Clark also oversaw the Global Nutrition Team’s work and served as the company’s chief sustainability officer and president of Kellogg’s Corporate Citizen Fund.

“Celeste is a foremost authority on nutrition and health policy and played a key role in collaborating with a global consortium of industry, academic and government leaders to increase consumer understanding of nutrition,” said Dean Hollis, chairman of AdvancePierre and senior advisor to AdvancePierre’s majority shareholder in funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, LP. “Her broad expertise and its real-world application will be a great addition to our board.”

Clark holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Univ. in Baton Rouge, La. and a master’s degree from Iowa State Univ. She earned a doctorate from Michigan State Univ. and currently serves as a professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
