MINNEAPOLIS – Arthur Valdez has been named executive vice president and chief supply chain and logistics officer of Target Corp. Most recently, Valdez was vice president of operations at Amazon, where over the past 16 years he held leadership positions across the company’s global and domestic supply chain. His retail career spans more than 20 years and includes positions with Wal-Mart and Kmart. His experience encompasses both direct-to-consumer and direct-to-store operations.
At Target, Valdez will lead the company’s supply chain transformation, including planning, distribution and transportation. He will report to John Mulligan, executive vice president and COO.
“While we’ve made significant progress in improving our operations, Target’s growth hinges on our ability to enhance the fundamental aspects of our business, starting with the supply chain,” Mulligan said. “Arthur’s leadership and experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to drive improvements in end-to-end processes including leveraging our almost 1,800 stores to deliver a seamless experience for our guests.”
