GLENDALE, Calif. – Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer will lead Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill in focusing its menu on real and honest cooking that is simple, vibrant and American as the new executive chef and vice president, culinary and menu strategy.

Spillyards-Schaefer and her team of chefs have committed to enhancing kitchen operations, streamlining the menu and developing modern American food to incorporate more fresh and real ingredients. The new executive chef has plans for a strategy that will allow Applebee’s cooks across the nation to better serve each guest.

Spillyards-Schaefer graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America. Her experience includes an apprenticeship with Chef Michael Bernard Platz of L’Entrecote, service as a private chef, owner of two restaurants and director of product development for Chili’s Grill and Bar. Before her appointment with Applebee’s, she served as vice president of research and development for Bloomin’ Brands International, which includes Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse.
