Editors from MEAT+POULTRY stopped by the Bacon and Bourbon Festival in downtown Kansas City to see some different bacon treats on April 14.
Nine local restaurants came out with tasty appetizers that ranged from a bacon covered meatball to chocolate covered bacon dates.
In its third year, the organizers of this event, sponsored by a local magazine called The Pitch, were extremely pleased with the results and the attention it brings to bacon and bourbon.
“There’s something about that combo,” said Jason Dockery, the marketing director for the event. “People are so happy at that event. It’s tough to put your finger on it. It’s just good food and good drinks.”
