SPRINGDALE, Ark. – A Carroll County Quorum Court judged authorized a 10-year tax abatement and 10-year revenue bond for Tyson Foods’ proposed plant in Green Forest, Arkansas. Officials with Tyson made the proposal to the finance committee of the Carroll County Quorum on April 13.
The proposed 200,000-sq.-ft. facility would be built across the street from an existing Green Forest processing facility. A corridor would connect the two buildings. The new facility would expand the company’s partially cooked capacity while reducing transportation costs associated with moving products to other locations for further processing. Tyson estimated the cost of the project to be $136 million.
In addition to incentives approved by Carroll County, Tyson qualifies for an InvestArk sales and use tax credit from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
