WASHINGTON – Garland Ventures LTD of Garland, Texas launched a recall of approximately 114,870 lbs. of chicken fried rice that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the US Dept. of Agriculture reported.
Garland Ventures was alerted to the problem by their supplier of vegetable fried rice, Ajinomoto Windsor. Frozen foods involved in the CRF Frozen Foods recall were incorporated into Ajinomoto’s products. Pasco, Washington-based CRF Foods voluntarily recalled frozen vegetable products due to an outbreak of listeriosis. FSIS noted that there have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions related to consumption of Garland Ventures’ products.
The chicken fried rice products were made on various dates between Sept. 24, 2015 and March 23. Affected products include 20 oz. pail boxes containing AllFresh Foods “ANJOY Chicken Fried Rice.”
Case Codes associated with the “ANJOY Chicken Fried Rice” product are: 092415, 092915, 100215, 101325, 101615, 102015, 102715, 110315, 110615 and 032316.
The affected products bear establishment number “P-31993” inside the USDA mark of inspection, FSIS said. The chicken fried rice was shipped to retail distributor locations in Colorado, Georgia, Missouri and Utah.
