DOTHAN, Ala. – Wayne Farms is moving forward with a planned addition of a variable retention freezer system at the company’s poultry processing facility in Dothan, the Dothan Eaglereported. The addition is expected to cost $21.2 million and create 22 jobs.
The project is part of an expansion of the Dothan facility that will add 42,000 sq. ft. to the existing structure which covers 105,000 sq. ft. The expansion, which was expected to complete this year, will double the plant’s processing capacity.
The company also broke ground on a new $53 million feed mill in Ozark, Alabama, that will support the increased processing capacity at the Dothan plant.
