MINNEAPOLIS – Granite City Food & Brewery and Cadillac Ranch All American Bar & Grill has hired a new marketing vice president and promoted its corporate executive chef. CEO Phil Costner announced the appointment of Jim Macchitelli as the vice president of marketing and the promotion of Dave Brantner to the role of corporate executive chef.
Costner was appointed as the CEO of Granite City on Aug. 31. He joined Granite City in July to replace Rob Doran who is retiring after leading the brand over the past six years.
“As Granite City continues to grow its restaurants across the Midwest, it is important that we have clear strategy to help us drive our brand differentiation, our guest count growth, and our overall performance,” Costner said. “Jim has had significant successes with brand positioning, product development, promotional offer development and deployment, integrated digital marketing, and effective local restaurant marketing support. He has the background, the expertise and the leadership ability to help us realize our potential in all areas.”
Macchitelli is a graduate of Loyola Univ. in Chicago and holds an MBA from the Univ. of Minnesota, Curtis L. Carlson School of Management. Brantner has a culinary arts degree from Washburne Trade School and his experience includes The Cheesecake Factory and Marriott’s Corporate Services and Clubs.
“Dave Brantner brings exceptional culinary experience and leadership skills to his new role,” Costner added. “Given the importance of the made-from-scratch food at our brewery restaurants, Dave will enable us further to elevate our cuisine so that every dining experience is a memorable one at Granite City and at Cadillac Ranch.”
