The transaction of Jeraci Foods is expected to close in October. 

 

ROSEMONT, Ill. – US Foods has agreed to acquire Jeraci Foods, a distributor of specialty Italian foods based in Elmsford, New York. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close Oct. 7, were not disclosed.

 

Jeraci Foods will remain open through the end of the year, then transition to the US Foods location in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

“As a family owned business Jeraci Foods has built a strong reputation for great customer service and high quality food,” Chuck Gannon, area president, US Foods, said in a statement. “At US Foods, we pride ourselves on those same characteristics and look forward to bringing an even more robust product offering to Jeraci customers.”

Jeraci Foods was founded in 1972 and specializes in authentic Italian and other imported and domestic food products to customers in the metro New York area. Jeraci Foods reported more than $26 million in annual sales. The acquisition by US Foods gives the foodservice distributor additional market share in the Italian independent restaurant and pizzeria segment.
