WASHINGTON – Stillmore, Georgia-based Crider Inc. launched a recall of approximately 5,610 lbs. of canned Wild Planet Organic Roasted Chicken Breast products on concerns of foreign matter contamination, the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the US Dept. of Agriculture reported.
A distributor discovered the problem after receiving two complaints from consumers on Oct. 2 and Oct. 9. Crider received a report of a potential injury associated with consumption of the canned chicken breast. There have been no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products, FSIS said.
Products subject to the recall include 1,496 cases of 5-oz. cans of “Wild Planet Organic Roasted Chicken Breast – 100% Chicken Breast & Sea Salt – No Liquids Added” with a Best Buy Date of 01/16/18. The affected products bear establishment number “EST. 31812” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The canned chicken was shipped to multiple distributers for further distribution.
