The Jarvis USSS-1 pneumatic stunner with variable regulator allows the operator to adjust the pressure for plants that process different types of cattle.
When writing an SOP for stunner maintenance, do not write a long book. Below is an outline. Write one to four sentences for each step.
Pneumatic stunners:
- Conduct tests on the test stand.
- Describe daily and weekly maintenance procedures and verification methods.
- Maintain and inspect stunner air supply.
- Maintain and inspect the balancer and the trolley it travels on.
Cartridge-fired stunners:
- Tested daily on the test stand.
- Describe daily and weekly maintenance.
- Follow cartridge storage procedures to keep cartridges dry.
Management verification of these procedures. Make sure stunners used in the yards for non-ambulatory animals receive the same care as the stunners used at the stun box.
