The sandwich chain adds three varieties of brisket sandwiches to its offerings.
ATLANTA – The sandwich chain known for its signature round buns is adding some beef flare to its offerings with the rollout of three brisket sandwich varieties. All utilizing hickory-smoked brisket as its basis, each sandwich features unique toppings and a specific bun to accent the flavor profile.
The sandwiches choices include:
- Traditional Brisket, topped with mozzarella, cheddar and parmesan cheese, barbecue sauce, pickles and onions on a sourdough bun;
- Tex-Mex Brisket, served with queso fresco, cheddar cheese, salsa, red peppers, jalapeños, lettuce and chipotle mayonnaise on a jalapeño bun; and
- Cuban Brisket, which includes Swiss cheese, barbecue sauce, spicy mustard and pickles on a jalapeño bun.
"We know our customers are looking to be more adventurous with their food and as a Texas staple, brisket gives us a unique opportunity to create new menu items with flavors that tie back to our Austin roots," said Kelly Roddy, Schlotzsky's president.
