WASHINGTON – J & Y Dasung Inc., doing business as Som See Neh in Los Angeles, launched a recall of approximately 178,335 lbs. of frozen pork dumplings that were produced without benefit of federal inspection, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the US Dept. of Agriculture reported.

An officer with the Office of Investigations, Enforcement, and Audit (OIEA) discovered the problem on March 14 during routine surveillance activity at a retail store in California. The products do not bear the USDA mark of inspection. FSIS noted that there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the dumplings.

The affected items were produced from January 2015 through March 2017 and include:

• Boxes containing 12 3-lb. plastic bags of “SOM SEE NEH Vegetable Meat Dumpling” with “Shelf Life: Frozen with 16months” and case code 96859-08224.
• Boxes containing 12 3-lb. plastic bags of “SOM SEE NEH KIMCHI Dumplings” with “Shelf Life: Frozen with 16months” and case code 96859-08223.

The dumplings were shipped to retail locations in Southern California.
