ROBARDS, Ky. – Officials with Tyson Foods Inc. confirmed reports that an employee at its poultry processing plant in Henderson County was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer the morning of April 15. According to reports, Glen L. Hawkins, 59, was walking into the plant at approximately 4 a.m. when the accident occurred. Hawkins was employed as a truck driver with Tyson and the company said details of the incident are still being investigated.
“We’re deeply saddened by this tragic accident and the loss of one of our team members,” Worth Sparkman, spokesman for Tyson, said in a statement. “We’re working with law enforcement to investigate what happened.”
