SAN JOSE, Calif. – Togo’s Holdings LLC announced the promotion of Glenn Lunde, the company’s chief concept officer, to president effective June 1. The company also announced that Chairman and CEO Tony Gioia will retire effective May 31, however he will remain on the board.

Lunde joined Togo’s in January this year, and is leading the company’s brand transformation strategies, including the Togo’s operating format and menu strategies. Lunde has held executive roles in branding and marketing at chains such as Taco Bell, Round Table Pizza, and Panda Restaurant Group.
In his new role, Lunde plans to enhance Togo’s menu offerings and traditional recipes, along with a new menu board design, featuring the company’s hand-sliced premium meats with larger portions.
“I have been a loyal Togo’s customer since my high school days in the Bay Area and I am very excited to lead this amazing Brand in its next phase of growth,” Lunde said. “Tony has created a permanent place in the outstanding legacy of Togo’s, and I will continue to benefit from his knowledge and experience with him serving on our board.”

Gioia has been a leading restaurant industry executive for more than 30 years, and he spent 10 years leading and growing Togo’s. Before joining Togo’s, he served as CEO for several public and privately held restaurant companies. He was also president at Baskin Robbins, served on the executive committee for Dunkin’ Donuts, and was COO at Wolfgang Puck Food Co. Gioia has also been an executive partner with several private equity firms and recently spearheaded the sale of Togo’s from previous ownership to Nimes Capital, LLC.
