KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Animal handling expert, Temple Grandin, Ph.D., will discuss how advances in technology, training and management ensure optimum results in livestock slaughtering operations during a freewebinarscheduled for June 13, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The webinar, “Advances in Kill Floor Technology,” is presented by
MEAT+POULTRYand sponsored by Frontmatec, Arrowsight Inc. and Humane-Aire. The hour-long event will be moderated by M+P Editor, Joel Crews, who will discuss the opportunities and advances in slaughtering operations with Grandin, the world’s foremost authority on animal welfare and a longtime contributing editor toM+P. There will also be time designated for registrants to submit questions relating to the discussion.

Topics will include:

•How technology and training are essential to improving animal welfare practices;

•The evolution of stunning technology and handling systems and the role of maintenance in today’s equipment;

•An overview of Controlled Atmosphere Stunning (CAS) including its benefits and applications across species;

•Guidelines for monitoring and measuring animal handling and the role of training, in-house auditing and Remote Video Auditing.
