In honor of Canada Day, Burger King restaurants in Canada will offer customers the Original Chicken Sandwich for C$1.50 on July 1 and 2. Participating restaurants will offer the classic sandwich – white meat chicken, lightly breaded, and topped with shredded lettuce and creamy mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun – to customers who mention the deal.
Richmond, British Columbia-based Boston Pizza changed its name to Canada Pizza starting June 27. More than 380 restaurants across the country will showcase the new name through the Canada Day weekend.
“Canada is the birthplace of Boston Pizza and there is no better day to remind Canadians of our patriotism than Canada's milestone birthday,” said Jordan Holm, executive vice president of marketing & communications with Boston Pizza International. “As Canada's No. 1 casual dining restaurant brand, it felt natural for us to change our name and give Canadians a designated place to celebrate our great country's 150th birthday, on a patio, with great food and a cold drink in hand.”
Tim Hortons is offering its RRRoll Up to the Rim to Win contest for the second time this year to help Canadians celebrate the 150th birthday. Guests can play to win prizes when buying coffee at the restaurant.
“Tims is proud to be part of communities across Canada, so to celebrate this national milestone we wanted to show our appreciation for Canadians who have made us part of their daily routine for over 50 years,” said Sami Siddiqui, president of Tim Hortons Canada. “RRRoll up has become a Canadian tradition, so we think there is no better way to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday alongside our guests in a truly Canadian way than with Canada's Favorite Contest.”
