Walmart's Sam's Club in Beijing is selling premium US beef after ban lifted.
“Sam’s Club China was able to leverage Walmart’s global sourcing strength to deliver a limited first batch of high-quality US beef to the Beijing location,” Rebecca Lui, corporate affairs, Walmart, said in a statement. “We started with boneless short rib, a premium and tender part of the meat that is very popular among Chinese. For the first time in 13 years, Sam’s Club is bringing prime- and choice-grade short ribs from Nebraska to China, all delivered using a 30-hour cold chain.”
The cuts are sourced from antibiotic- and hormone-free cattle aged under 30 months in accordance with US Meat Export Federation regulations. Cows are traceable back to the farm of origin and are uniquely identified.
