The NHDSC online poll, conducted by Harris, concluded that 61 percent of Americans prefer beef hot dogs. Pork came in second place at 12 percent while turkey was third with 7 percent. Additionally, 38 percent of respondents indicated a preference for hot dogs in natural casings, while 25 percent reported they prefer skinless, and 25 percent had no preference.
“At a time when so many issues divide us, hot dogs stand as a food that unites,” NHDSC President Eric Mittenthal said. “Whether people enjoy them with beef or pork, natural casing or skinless, hot dogs are a food that is truly beloved.”
