Fair Oaks Farms recalled about 1,134 lbs. of held product that was inadvertently shipped from a distribution center.
The patties were produced by the company on Aug. 8 and included 2-lb. plastic sleeve packages labeled: “BREAKFAST Best FULLY COOKED ORIGINAL PORK SAUSAGE PATTIES,” with a sell-by date of 05/15/2018.
The products were shipped to retail customers and distribution facilities in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin and are labeled with “EST. 17479T” above the sell by date. Routine testing resulted in the positive results and while the products were on hold at a distribution center, they were mistakenly shipped, according to the FSIS. No reports of illness or adverse reactions have been reported as the result of consuming the products, but there are concerns that some packages may be in consumers’ freezers.
