Wang Recall
This recall is an expansion of the Sept. 15 recall that includes additional products and production dates.
 
WASHINGTON – The US Dept. of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced America New York RI Wang Food Group, a Maspeth, New York, establishment is recalling approximately 63,823 lbs. of pork sausage products and beef products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The recall is an expansion of a recall announced onSept. 15, 2017.

This expanded recall includes an additional 9,850 lbs. of Heat Treated but Not Fully Cooked-Not Shelf Stable beef and pork products that were produced on various dates from Jan. 5, 2016, through June 29, 2017.

Additional products subject to recall include:

•25-lb. institutional pack of “Beef Balls,” with the following lot codes and package dates:

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 40200” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were distributed for institutional use in New York.  

RI Wang notified FSIS of the problem on Sept. 15, after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) tested exported product and discovered milk proteins were present. Further investigation on September 25, by FSIS inspection personnel, identified additional products that did not include milk on the product label.

No reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products have been confirmed. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. 

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
