WASHINGTON – President and CEO of Batesburg, South Carolina-based Amick Faarms LLC, Ben Harrison was installed as 2017-2018 chairman of the National Chicken Council (NCC) during NCC’s annual conference on Nov. 2, in Washington, DC.

Harrison graduated from Clemson Univ. in 1990 with a degree in financial management. He was a junior auditor for Earnst and Young before joining Amick Farms in 1991. He became president of Amick Farms in 2004. Harrison currently serves on the Board of Directors at NCC and the US Poultry & Egg Association and has served on his local school board from 2000-2012.
Koch Foods CEO Mark Kaminsky will serve as 2017-2018 vice chairman. Clint Rivers, CEO of Wayne Farms, LLC, Oakwood, Georgia, will take over as Secretary-treasurer. In addition to the new officers, Mike Brown of Vienna, Virginia, was elected to a sixth term as president of NCC. Officers serve one-year terms.
“I want to personally thank Immediate Past Chairman Mike Popowycz for the leadership and stewardship he displayed at the council during his chairmanship,” Brown said. “I look forward to leaning on the vast knowledge of Ben, Mark, and Clint to help guide our organization and the industry in the coming year.”
