SEATTLE – Officials with Darigold confirmed that the former vice president of engineering for Smithfield Foods and MEAT+POULTRY’s Operations Executive of the Year in 2017, Paul Kafer, is its new leader of engineering and major projects. No replacement for Kafer has been formally announced by Smithfield.

Kafer assumed the position Nov. 1 and is based in Seattle. He reports to Scott Burleson, Darigold’s vice president of operations. Darigold is one of the largest dairy co-ops in the country producing fresh, value-added dairy products and solutions to a global base of consumers and organizations. Kafer began his career with Smithfield in 2005 as the assistant vice president of corporate engineering.
