TYLER, Texas – Officials with John Soules Foods announced on Dec. 22 a $70 million renovation of a 266,000-sq.-ft. facility it purchased in Valley, Alabama. The building was formerly used to store and distribute automotive parts to KIA. The initial phase of the project is expected to add approximately 210 employees and the final two phases of the renovation to include an additional $40 million investment, which will add 300 more workers. According to the company, which manufactures ready-to-cook and fully cooked fajita beef and chicken as well as fully cooked chicken, the Alabama facility will have the capacity to produce over 100 million lbs. of fully cooked products annually.

With the additional manufacturing capabilities, we are creating a position to handle the growing needs of our customers that allow us to be more responsive across the Grocery and Foodservice markets,” said Mark Soules, co-CEO of John Soules.
The renovated facility will be the company’s third in the US, with one plant in Georgia and one in Texas currently operating.
