About 430 lbs. of product was identified as possibly being undercooked by a further processor. 
 
WASHINGTON – Approximately 430 lbs. of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat was recalled by Metairie, Louisiana-based Crescent City Meats due to concerns the products could be undercooked according to a Jan. 5 announcement by the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The product recalled was RTE Tasso Cajun Spicy Ham produced on Nov. 9, Dec. 18 and Dec. 20, 2017. A Crescent City further-processing customer using the product discovered the issue on Jan. 4 after noticing the ham product appeared to be raw, which was confirmed by FSIS officials.

Products subject to the recall include:

5-lb. vacuum packs that were shipped in 10-lb. cases with the product labeled “TASSO CAJUN SPICY HAM READY TO EAT.”  The cases contain lot codes 1631317, 1635517, and 1635217 or 35217.
