ATLANTA – Tom Hensley, president of Fieldale Farms in Baldwin, Georgia, was elected chairman of the board of directors of the US Poultry & Egg Association, during the 2018 International Production & Processing Expo in Atlanta. He previously served as vice chairman of the association. Hensley succeeds Jerry Moye, who was the long-time president of Cobb-Vantress.  

Hensley has a business degree from Marshall Univ. He is currently president of Fieldale Farms where he has worked for 40 years and serves as a member of company’s board of directors. Also, he is past chairman of the National Chicken Council and a life member of the Georgia Poultry Federation.


John Prestage, of Prestage Farms, Clinton, North Carolina, was named the new vice chairman. Prestage received his BS in animal science from North Carolina State Univ. He is currently senior vice president of Prestage Farms and has been with the company since its inception in 1983.

Greg Hinton, of Rose Acre Farms in Seymour, Indiana, was elected treasurer. Hinton attended Indiana Univ. and Purdue Univ. He is currently vice president of sales for Rose Acre Farms and serves on the Executive Committee and Long-Range Planning Committee. He has been with Rose Acre Farms for 38 years.

Mike Levengood, vice president, chief animal care officer and farmer relationship advocate for Perdue Foods in Salisbury, Maryland, was named secretary. Levengood is a graduate of Penn State Univ. where he earned a BBA in agriculture business management. Levengood joined Perdue in 1984. He has served the poultry industry in various capacities, including past chairman of the National Chicken Council Growout Committee.
