The company is now the sole owner of all USDA-approved biltong facilities in the US.

PLANO, Texas – Stryve Foods announced on Feb. 22 that it acquired Braaitime LLC. This deal comes after Stryve Foods acquired the assets of Biltong USA on Jan. 30.

With the purchase, Stryve Foods LLC is the sole owner of all US Dept. of Agriculture-inspected biltong facilities in the United States. Biltong is a form of dried, cured meat that originated in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Braaitime has produced South African-style cured meats for 12 years that are all natural, zero sugar, gluten-free, and made with beef. The company received its USDA certification in 2012.

"I am delighted that our dream of bringing biltong to every home in America is on its way to becoming a reality and look forward to being a part of the team that will make this happen," said Warren Pala, Braaitime division president.

Braaitime will continue to operate under its brand as a subsidiary of Stryve Foods. Warren Pala, founder and division president of Braaitime, will transition to director of manufacturing for Stryve Foods, overseeing production in all of their biltong facilities.

"Consumers are becoming more aware of what they put in their bodies and are looking for natural products with fewer ingredients,” Joe Oblas, Stryve Foods COO, said. “We are dedicated to replacing the facings of jerky on shelves with the future of protein snacks – biltong."
