SEPT-ÎLES, Quebec – Employees at Four Tim Hortons restaurants in Sept- Îles, Quebec, achieved their first collective agreement as members of the Steelworkers Local 7065.
An arbitrator appointed by the Quebec provincial government will hold a final round of hearings with Tim Hortons management and worker representatives. The agreement covers 80 Tim Hortons employees most of whom are women. They joined the Steelworkers union in February 2015.
"A long saga is ending and we're looking forward to a new relationship between employees and the employer that will be based on respect, equity and appropriate treatment," United Steelworkers union representative Gilles Ayotte said.
The arbitrator will impose a first collective agreement within 90 days.
