Opening to the public on April 25, the new restaurant will offer a rotating menu of McDonald’s dishes from all over the world as well as classic menu items. The location also features an Australian McCafe area and a Latin American-style dessert center that serves Latin American desserts along with other treats from around the globe.
The first global menu items rotation includes the Mighty Angus Burger from Canada, the McSpicy Chicken Sandwich from Hong Kong, Cheese & Bacon Loaded Fries from Australia, the Mozza Salad and the Manhattan Salad from France, and the McFlurry Prestígio from Brazil.
“As part of our new headquarters, we wanted to provide our customers with an exciting way to experience our global menu right here in Chicago,” said Steve Easterbrook, president and CEO of McDonald’s Corp. “We are delighted to showcase a taste of McDonald’s from all over the world, making this location a one-of-a-kind experience that Chicagoans will enjoy with friends and family.”
McDonald’s new restaurant, an extension of the company’s McDonald’s Experience of the Future platform, features a modern globally-inspired interior and a wall map with Golden Arches that illuminate when an item from a specific country is featured on the menu. Ordering kiosks, table service, mobile order and payment and McDelivery with Uber Eats options are also part of the new location, the company said.
“This is an exciting time for McDonald’s and the city of Chicago,” said owner-operator Nick Karavites. “As a Chicago native who has grown up in the McDonald’s business, I’m proud to add the new headquarters restaurant to my organization.”
The new restaurant precedes the opening of McDonald’s headquarters later this spring. The nine-story building will house McDonald’s corporate offices as well as Hamburger University, which provides training for the company’s leaders and employees. McDonald’s Corp. was previously based in Oak Brook, Illinois.
