KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Nov. 2, McRib began being sold once again at all US McDonald’s restaurants and although just one week into its most recent launch, the company has already taken steps to ensure it doesn’t run out of this limited-time-only, iconic fast-food.

“We bought an additional 10 million lbs. of pork to assure supply of McRib,” Ashlee Yingling, spokeswoman with McDonald’s USA, told MEATPOULTRY.com. “It’s premature to speculate on sales, but I can tell you that we sold nearly 60 million McRib sandwiches over the past three years.”

While some may speculate if the McRib has been reformulated or has changed in any way since the last time it was offered, Yingling assures the pubic nothing has changed.

“McDonald’s has maintained a consistent McRib recipe since its introduction in 1981,” she said.
