DENVER – The national rollout of a Steak Bowl meal kit line is underway. The kits were developed by American Foods Group, a beef processor owned by Rosen’s Diversified Inc., in collaboration with the Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. program.
The kits, which were tested in select stores in February, will be sold in fresh meat departments at 1,500 stores this year. The kits are a complete meal that consumers can eat as is or include their choice of vegetables. The meal kits include USDA Choice beef packaged raw with the ingredients. Flavors include Korean Style Bulgogi Beef Bowl, Steak Burrito Bowl, Steak & Tzatziki Bowl and Steak and Mash Bowl.
“We are really excited to see these beef meal kits come to fruition,” said Shenoa French, director of Manufacturer Engagement at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), a contractor to the beef checkoff. “Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. understands that people want quick, delicious, healthy options and we are happy deliver that in one package that people can be excited to serve to their loved ones.”
The kits are priced between $12.48 and $17.99 and feed four to six people. The meals can be prepared at home in under 30 minutes and in only one pan.
